1985 Longwood, Glenmore Subdivision June 24, 2007

Gorgeous, simply gorgeous. What else can you say about this one? The use of shake shingle as an exterior cladding material is pretty rare in Baton Rouge, as is the flat roof. I’d hate to see their repair bills after some of the torrential rains we’ve been having, but I’d still take this house in a heartbeat.

  1. Ann and Jack Singleton Says:

This wonderful couple painstakingly restored this house. It was in terrible condition and they removed all previous remodelings that had destroyed the integrity of the house. They are true modernists and loved their house when no one else was ready to take on the challenge. She refers to him as a renaissance man and she is a published novelist.

I believe this house was designed by architect Ken Landry and used as his own residence for many years. He is now deceased.
